Reef Lighthouse" This is how the lighthouse appeared in
the 1960’s. It is located six miles off the
extreme north coast of California and is the most expensive
lighthouse ever built - $704,633. It was in
service from 1892 until 1972. M.A. Ballantyne and a crew of
nearly 50 men worked for more than 10 years
to complete the project.
