Anne Brodie Hill announces the release of her latest in a series
of Lake Lanier Bridges signed prints.
The
new print, which is the third in the series, shows the 1996 Olympic
finish line tower, bringing back memories of the exciting
competitions seen at this location. Most Lanier anglers also think
of Clark’s Bridge as an excellent fishing spot, day or night, so a
small fishing boat is depicted near the bank behind the bridge.
Also in the new print, an ocean rowing shell is shown. Anne
contacted Will Hart, owner of Rowing Atlanta at Lake Lanier, who
markets the Alden Ocean Shells, and he familiarized her with the
rowing shells and their history at Lake Lanier. In 1984, Will rowed
the 26 mile length of Lake Lanier from Clark’s Bridge to Buford
Dam in four hours. He rowed an Alden Ocean Shell like that shown in
the Clark’s Bridge print. Will stated "I own three racing
shells, but the "Star" model is my favorite because open
water rowing is so exhilarating when there is wind and chop. I’ve
rowed in elite competitions in Philadelphia and Boston, but nothing
compares to my enjoyment of a solitary morning row on Lake Lanier.
As a special addition to her Bridges series, Anne is also
releasing "Lanier Island Sunset." A spectacular sunset of
red, yellow, alizarin, and orange is seen behind a sailboat lazily
heading back to her dock after a fabulous day of sailing near Lake
Lanier Islands.
These two new signed prints are the third and fourth prints Anne
has made depicting scenes from Lake Lanier. The first print is
"Brown’s Bridge," a quiet morning scene of Brown’s
Bridge from Lan Mar Marina, showing dock 7A’s sailboats, pontoons,
and speedboats tied up and waiting for their owners to arrive for a
day of fun at the lake. The second print is "Bolling
Bridge" on a warm summer day with a Canada goose gander and his
mate on the lookout protecting his family of goslings on a finger of
land near the bridge on highway 53.
Anne Brodie Hill is a local marine artist and photographer who
lives halfway between Gainesville and Cumming, Ga., very close to
the lake. She is very familiar with North Georgia Lakes as both her
parents and her family and children have always been big boating
enthusiasts. She is a signature Artist Member of the American
Society of Marine Artists and an official Coast Guard Artist (COGAP).
She has won numerous awards at the Atlanta Artist Center and is a
Member of Excellence there. Collectors of her paintings include

Ms. Hill has also made postcards, t-shirts, and tote bags of all
of the Lake Lanier prints. The signed prints are available in two
sizes: 15 inches by 21 inches and 8 inches by 11 inches and are
offered exclusively at Frames-You-Nique on the Square in
Gainesville, Ga. (770-532-7074) .
